Mac’s Printing, Inc. is a business commercial printer and digital print center, serving San Gabriel Valley businesses
since 1981. The company’s current full-service operation staffed by an experienced and knowledgeable team,
includes graphics design, computer-to-plate pre-press, digital print center, offset printing, bindery and finishing
services. This full-service operation supports Mac’s Printing’s mission to provide outstanding customer service and a
total printing solution for the customer.
Mac’s Printing incorporated the RIP-IT system in 2000. Previously using strictly film and metal plates, the change to
poly plates initially caused reluctance in production. The prepress department went through a learning curve from
shooting artwork on the camera to preparing it electronically and sending it to the imagesetter. The press department
always used metal plates and had to learn to get used to the characteristics of poly plates. After going through these
learning curves, the production crew now enjoy the ease and quick process from customer’s file to going on press,
printing quality 1 – 3 color jobs. With the addition of a 4-color press in 2002, 4-color jobs are now produced with
poly plates output from the RIP-IT system, at 175 line screen. Full color catalogs, brochures, postcards and product
sheets have been produced strictly on poly plates with great quality and economical costing. This capability has
grown business in Mac’s Printing vastly, and keep the company competitive in this sluggish market.
The greatest advantage of incorporating the system has been: time savings, cost savings, and control over the
quality and schedule of jobs in the shop, instead of relying on a service bureau.
