PIP Printing® signs contract with RIPit® Computer Corporation to provide their
Direct to Plate Systems featuring the OpenRIP® 2000 interpreter as a recommended
standard to new and existing PIP Printing Franchise print shops. Already popular in several
PIP locations, RIPits Direct to Plate Solutions are quickly becoming the DTP systems of
choice, for their quality and affordability.
Mark Lake, one of the store franchise owners already using the system said, I selected
RIPits DTP System because of conversations with our corporate digital people, namely
Blanca Bolner at PIP Corporate, as well as Ray Baggerly of Digital QuickColor. I even flew
out to DQC last year to see the system while Ray was evaluating the package. I look for more
of a quality process than the actual cost of the equipment. Direct to Plate made absolutely the
most sense quality wise. Mr. Lake also thought RIPit was reasonably priced and the cost per
plate was very good, especially since they have almost no instances of having to rerun plates
because of wrong exposure.
Blanca Bolner, Manager Technology & Vendor Services had this to say about RIPit and the
Direct to Plate System. After several stores purchased the system, we received great reviews
and positive comments on the system and RIPits support team. We highly recommend the
RIPit System to all our franchises. RIPits features will allow PIP Printing franchises to do
digital jobs quicker, faster, and easier at a great affordable price.
By going Direct to Plate, our stores now can run with virtually no assistance from outside
service bureaus. This allows the stores to produce quality printing in a timely manner and at a
price that is affordable to their customers. Additionally, RIPit provides a manual, an interactive
multi-media CD on its use, web site downloads, and on-line support.
