RIPit® Computer Corporation announced an agreement with Sir Speedy®, Inc. to provide
complete Direct to Plate Systems as an option to new and existing Sir Speedy Franchisees.
Sir Speedy’s Research & Development evaluation on the product was that RIPit’s
OpenRIP
® 2000 interpreter is easy to operate, easy to learn, and connects to a Mac and
PC in minutes.

The RIPit SpeedSetter® produces plates with half mil accuracy creating sharp clear
screens and halftones. The system is available as In-Line (integrated SpeedSetter
® and
Plate Processor), or Off-Line in portrait or landscape formats, to best suit your production
needs. The familiarity of most shops using their camera for plates has made the transition
to first generation digital output simpler and yields an unsurpassed quality printed product.

Chosen For Quality and Affordability

Sir Speedy, Inc. feels that RIPit’s Direct to Plate System is of high quality, provides a full range
of advanced features and is an affordable alternative to traditional processes. The system
offers a built-in monitor preview to check accuracy before printing. This allows you to make
corrections before you output a color proof or image a plate or film, saving both time and
material to the franchise. We were also impresed with RIPit’s Custom Plate Templating feature,
which virtually eliminates the guess work on plate setup and imaging.

Karl Post, Assistant Vice President of Strategic Development for Sir Speedy Inc. notes,
“Sir Speedy has tested and recommends the product to our Franchises who are considering
the purchase of a Direct to Plate Package. This includes the existing franchise network and
all new centers opened from 1999.”
