RIPit’s is pleased to announce the arrival of OpenRIP Flexo 5.0, the latest edition of the award winning OpenRIP Series.
OpenRIP Flexo 5.0 delivers a new level of workflow automation with a wide range of feature and performance enhance-
ments making it one of the most productive flexo specific RIPs on the market. OpenRIP Flexo 5.0 is an Adobe®
PostScript
® 3™ RIP that makes it easy to handle complex digital files, customize and manage your resident die data
base, and drive every output device in your shop including: platesetters, imagesetters, laser printers, digital copiers, inkjet
printers and plotters... for true device to device consistency.

Monitor Preview - Check page elements, colors, traps, knockouts, overprints and step & repeat templates (in composite
and separated modes), before you output a proof or media.

Step & Repeat - Step and repeat digital files at the RIP with our quick and efficient RIP-once, plot-many process.

Resident Die Database - Allows you to create, edit and store custom die templates to suit an unlimited amount of
production scenarios. You can specify die numbers, step & repeat settings, bearer bar and distortion factors. OpenRIP
Flexo 5.0 allows users to quickly select the correct die for specific jobs, or use the optional SmartDie feature
automatically apply the correct die with desired job setup.

Flexo Die List Printing - Now when you sort a die list by a particular field, it may also be printed in that sequence.

Automatic Distortion - Automatically calculates and applies the correct distortion value as you edit step & repeat settings.

Bearer Bars and Marks - Automatically strip in standard or custom bearer bars, set bearer bar gaps, margins, cut marks,
register marks and file information to your stepped images. Standard bearer bars now be screened back to 50% or 25%, to
reduce ink build-up on the bar. Color density swatches can be added just outside either or both bearer bars.

Agfa® Balanced Screening for Flexo - Provides consistent clean halftone screens.

Linearization and Dot Gain Compensation - RIPit’s easy-to-use Linearization and Dot Gain Compensation Wizards take
the guesswork out of imagesetter and press calibration.

SmartDie™ Prepress Automation - SmartDie automatically recognizes die numbers included in PS, EPS and PDF files
and instantly applies the correct step & repeat, distortion, marks and bearer bar settings.

RIP-integrated color management - Allows OpenRIP Flexo to honor embedded color profiles, and lets you select source
and destination profiles to be used during interpretation. This allows you to create a fully color managed workflow and
provides better separations of RGB images placed in CMYK jobs.

RasterView - Examine RIPped files at the full resolution of your output device prior to outputting jobs on your imagesetter,
platesetter, proofer, or other output device. You can examine traps, halftone screens, tint values and screen angles. For
those who also do offset work, the tool can create CIP3 files for presses which support automatic ink key setting. Additionally,
you can create ink key setting charts for nonautomated presses, and the feature produces ink coverage percentage values
on a per-color basis.

Color Combining - OpenRIP Flexo 5.0 automatically combines spot colors which use the same number but end in “CVC”,
“CV”, “CVU”, etc... Plus, you can now combine different colors in a specific job to render on a single plate.

CPSI 3016 - This version of the Adobe PostScript 3 Interpreter features improved performance, compatibility updates, and
support for PDF 1.5, the file format used by Acrobat 6.

Plus - Advanced Color Proofing, Custom Job Queuing with Drag & Drop, Idiom Recognition, Job History, PDF Preview
and much more...

In-RIP Trapping with TrapZone™ - Allows you to quickly apply trapping commands at the RIP, automating complex
prepress tasks. RIPit's TrapZone™ feature enhances Adobe In-RIP Trapping by letting you select separate trap settings
for different parts of a page. You can define zones while viewing the rasterized image, and immediately re-RIP the file to
see the effects of your settings. Use Monitor Preview or RasterView to check file traps.

OpenRIP Remote - Control raster files on OpenRIP Flexo from MacOS-X and Windows workstations. Preview, impose and
send files to output devices. OpenRIP Remote also allows you to save raster files as PDFs, TIFFs and JPEGs to softproof
at workstations or email directly to customers.

PDF Export - Create low-res PDFs of RIPped files for preview on your workstation or as email proofs to customers.

KOOLKolor™ Proofing - Create attractive, color-accurate proofs on a variety of inkjet printers and plotters.
KOOLKolor uses industry-standard ICC Profiles.

KoolToning™ Halftone Simulator - Now see traditional AM halftone dots and true rosettes on your inkjet proof.

TIFFout and PSout - TIFFout, PSout, RRJout, and GDIout drivers are now available to the general public, and include
substantial enhancements. TIFFout is used to drive output devices which can accept TIFF files as input. PSout is used to
drive output devices which have their own attached RIPs, including copiers, legacy imagesetters and platesetters, etc...
RRJout is used to communicate with RIPit’s ImagerQ software to provide enhanced remote output for imagesetters and
platesetters. GDIout is used to drive non-PostScript Windows-compatible printers from OpenRIP.

PerfectBLEND™ Flexo Hybrid Screening - Combines the benefits of AM and FM Screening for higher linescreens,
smoother gradients and cleaner press runs.
