RIPit's
SpeedSetter® VM CtP Systems are complete 2-up, violet metal solutions that are available in two models to meet
a variety of production and budgets needs. The SpeedSetter VM and SpeedSetter VMPlus are manual load and unload
internal drum platesetters, tightly integrated with RIPit’s award winning OpenRIP
® Symphony™ workflow and an optional
photopolymer plate processor. RIPit's complete CtP workflow streamlines the entire platemaking process and allows you
to dramatically increase prepress production and overall print quality.
SpeedSetter VM and VMPlus platesetters utilize a single, reliable 60mW violet laser
diode instead of a complex array of high-power thermal lasers. The same laser
technology is used in many consumer electronic devices. They’re less expensive,
require less power, generate less heat and last far longer than thermal lasers.
The VM’s internal design delivers a very small spot size with accurate registration and
®
provides the freedom to image all silver and photopolymer violet metal plates that are
currently available on the market today.

SpeedSetter VM and VMPlus CtP Systems are driven by OpenRIP® Symphony, an
award winning Adobe
® PostScript® 3™ RIP that features a multi-device, multi-task
workflow designed to automate complex prepress task, eliminate human error and
provide more control over digital files, and file setup.
OpenRIP Symphony's multi-device functionality allows you to drive every output ®
device in your shop including: Platesetters, imagesetters, laser printers, digital
copiers, digital presses, inkjet printers and plotters from a single RIP workstation.
This provides true device to device consistancy.

Monitor Preview - Check page elements, colors, traps, knockouts, and overprints before you output media.
Custom Plate Templates - Choose different plate settings for each press. Specify plate characteristics such as®
header, gripper, image size, and tail length.
Imagesetter Linearization and Press Dot Gain Compensation - Our easy to use Linearization and Dot Gain ®
Compensation Wizards take all the guesswork out of imagesetter and press calibration.
SpeedSetter® VM PlateSetters - The SpeedSetter® VM is a 2-up, internal drum platesetter that delivers good ®
production at an affordable price. The VM combines a very small spot size with accurate registration which allows
you to quickly produce quality, violet metal plates (to suit common 2-up portrait and landscape presses) at a
resolution of 2540 dpi and linescreens over 200 lpi.
The SpeedSetter® VMPlus offers the same 2-up format as the SpeedSetter VM but it utilizes a high RPM air-bearing
®
spinner motor
that provides up to 2.5 times production speed of the VM, without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
See the VM and VMPlus Specifications page for productivity details.

Maximum Platemaking Versatility - The SpeedSetter VM and VMPlus features a manual load-unload design and auto ®
vacuum mechanism for quick plate changes that allows you to image multiple size plates from 9.5” x 15” to 19.88” x
20.88” (to suit all common 2-up portrait and landscape presses on the market). VM Series Platesetters provide
the freedom to image all silver and photopolymer violet metal plates that are available on the market today.
Compact Efficient Design - The small footprint allows you to set up on table top or use optional stand.®
PDF 1.5 Support - Lets you enjoy all the benefits of PDFs created in Distiller 6.0 including transparency. ®
Raster View - Full output resolution preview with ink usage calculator and CIP 3 support. ®
Plus - Advanced Color Proofing, Custom Job Queues with Drag & Drop, Idiom Recognition, ®
136 Adobe Standard Fonts and much, much more...

In-Rip Trapping with TrapZone - Adobe® In-RIP Trapping allows you to quaikly execute complex trapping
commands at the RIP. Our New TrapZone feature enhances In-RIP Trapping by letting you select separate trap
settings for different parts of a page.
OpenRIP Remote - Control raster files on OpenRIP Symphony from MacOS-X and Windows workstations.®
Preview, impose and send files to output devices. OpenRIP Remote also allows you to save raster files
as PDFs, TIFFs and JPEGs to softproof at workstations or email directly to customers.
PDF Preview - Create low-res PDFs of RIPped files for workstation preview or email directly to customers.®
KOOLKolor™ Proofing - Create attractive, color-accurate proofs on a variety of inkjet printers and plotters.®
KOOLKolor™ uses industry-standard ICC Profiles.
KoolToning™ Halftone Simulator - Now get traditional AM halftone dots and true rosettes on your®
inkjet proof.
StripRITE™ Raster Imposition - OpenRIP Symphony's raster imposition feature allows you to generate®
spreads for books, step and repeat business cards, and perform other sophisticated imposition tasks
quickly and easily.
AdvancedScan - AdvancedScan scan to plate software is the ideal tool for paper-based originals, with its®
powerful image capture and editing tools. Add images to text pages, assign spot colors, create tinted
backgrounds, and create low-resolution PDF proofs to email your customers.
TIFFout and PSout - The new TIFFout and PSout drivers allow you to use OpenRIP Symphony to drive®
alternate output devices that do not have the advanced features or workflow benefits that OpenRIP offers.
PerfectBLEND™ Hybrid Screening - Combines the benefits of AM and FM Screening for dramatically®
higher linescreens and better press runs.
Export Proof - Save raster files as low-res PDFs, TIFFs and JPEGs to softproof at workstations or email ®
proofs directly to customers
ImagerQ Concerto (optional TIFF Shooter Workstation) - Provides easy integration to any 1-bit TIFF ®
workflow and provides independent control of SpeedSetter VM platesetters and other output devices.

ImagerQ Conterto allows you to submit raster files, preview them, set output options and control output.

The P24 Plate Processor is designed to process a wide
range of violet sensitive photopolymer plate products. This
compact, easy to use processor is electronically controlled
to develop multiple size, single sided aluminum printing
plates using standard chemistry (see P24 Specifications).
The P24 PlateRunner can be connected to plumbing or run
in a stand-alone mode.
