“We’ve been using a RIPit® Computer to Film System
(OpenRIP® Flexo RIP and SpeedSetter™ 300x2 imagesetter)
for over 10 years with tremendous success. The workflow
was designed specifically for flexo production and allows us
to automate our job setup and output high resolution film
and color accurate proofs.
Recently we decided to add RIPit’s PerfectBLEND™ hybrid
screening and In-RIP trapping features. We immediately
saw a dramatic improvement in prepress production and
plate / printed image quality.
Shortly after the addition of PerfectBLEND... we received a
job that consisted of 35 different 4-color process seed
labels (In the past we have had typical problems in the
plating department due to missing dots, with at least 2-3
sub-par copies off press). But, on the very first run using
the hybrid screening, we virtually eliminated plate failure
and produced a much better product off press for our
customer. We routinely print our 4-color process at 175 lpi.
Now with PerfectBLEND, we have pushed the system to
240 lpi! Plus we are able to hold the vignettes without the
hard edge that has always been inherent with Flexo printing.
The Flexo industry has come along way in my 25 years in
the business and largely in part to products like yours."
