We fixed softball cleats.
RIP-IT cleats are designed like the cleat on the right.
During the design process for the RIP-IT Diamond Series, we interviewed many athletes. Nearly all of them mentioned that they have wide feet. The truth is, they don't have wide feet, they have a female foot and have been wearing male shoes.
- Males have a narrower toe box relative to the rest of their foot dimensions. RIP-IT fixed this!
- Females need more room in the toe box to increase comfort, performance, longevity, and better biomechanics. RIP-IT fixed this!
- The vast majority of softball footwear causes a female athlete's feet to fit like the image on the left. RIP-IT fixed this!
This is how we made a better cleat.
A last is a three-dimensional model of a foot used to create a shoe. It is used to shape the shoe's upper, insole, and outsole. The last determines the fit and shape of the shoe, and is a crucial step in the shoe development process.
- We created a female last. Most brands use a male or unisex last.
- Our female last leads to a better fit softball athletes.
- A better fit leads to higher performance while playing.
- And as a bonus we also made RIP-IT cleats and spikes exceptionally durable.
